EISLEY - Combinations lyrics

I, I saw you there, wanted you there
I, I knew that it was best for me
You brought me back to that place in my heart
I thought was gone, oh so long
I was unhappy now it's gone
And I'm moving on, moving on
I'm moving on

I went for so long
And I was so wrong
And then I met you
And now I can't live without you
And I don't want to
I've done that all my life up till now

Pass the evening, bring tomorrow
How could we know that night would bring us into daylight
Combinations all around us
Fill our heads with the love we've been feeling
For time long past

I went for so long
And I was so wrong
And then I met you
And now I can't live without you
And I don't want to
I've done that all my life up till now

All the time, darling now, oh
All the time, now we'll have to make it up
We'll make it up, oh
All the days, darling now, oh
All the days, now we'll have to make them up
We'll make them up somehow
We'll make them up

I went for so long
And I was so wrong
And then I met you
And now I can't live without you
And I don't want to
I've done that all my life

I went for so long
And I was so wrong
And then I met you
And now I can't live without you
And I don't want to
I've done that all my life up till now

We set THE DATE!

Today marks the day that we've made our decision as to where and when the wedding will be. The ceremony & reception will be held at a beautiful Japanese garden in Long Beach, CA. It couldn't be a more beautiful place; we are SO excited!

The date will be June 14, 2008

Here is a photo of the garden...

A tornado in California?!

Wow - Excitement abounds here in So. Cal.!

So we're just chillin' on a Saturday afternoon - messing around on our computers when the power goes out. I looked outside and realized the cause was a large thunderstorm making its way toward Rosamond. I decided it was probably a good time to unplug my work computers to avoid damaging them when the power came back on. About 30 minutes passed with no power when I decided that since I couldn't really cook, I should go grab some dinner from the grocery store; plus I have this strange urge to go out in thunderstorms and drive around. I guess I can thank the Antelope Valley for that; growing up here I've learned that there is literally nothing more exciting to do.

I did my shopping quickly and hopped in the car to get back home. The rain was blowing sideways from the south (which never happens) and all the trash that had lodged itself into the tumbleweeds and brush was now blowing across the road in front of me. The visibility was next to zero and I was giddy like a schoolgirl with excitement!

By the time I finally got home, I couldn't manage to open the car door because the wind was pressing against it with brute force. I finally got myself into some strange contorted position and wedged the door with my leg, grabbed my grocery bags, purse and keys and all at once leaped out while the door slammed behind me like the spring contraption on a mouse trap.

Whew...

I decided this was a storm I should probably sit on the sidelines for. Watching it from my front window, I was in awe at the force of the rain drops smacking the window pane like tiny darts. I live in Southern California; in the desert no less. Stuff like this, just doesn't happen here!

The storm left just about as fast as it came and suddenly it was eerily silent outside and what was left of the sun's evening rays were blazing through the trace of clouds left behind by the spontaneous storm. We were left wondering what the heck just happened and hoping the power would come back on soon, because the dead calm that the storm left behind was not helpful on a day where the temperature topped 105 degrees.

Hours passed and still no power.

Nightfall came....no power.

We are dripping with sweat and getting on each others nerves...still no power!

2AM Sunday - YAY power is back! Too bad I'm wide awake and sketchy because the hours without power made me paranoid; I seriously expected the locals to start pillaging the town.

11AM Sunday - Power is out again...

Supposedly the power came back on at 1AM Monday morning. I wouldn't know because we packed up the family and headed to some friends house - work computer in tow (Monday is print deadline for one of my books!).

Now, I bet you are wondering why all the chaos...

Oh and let's not forget why the power actually went out...

That's about 2 blocks from our house.

Well, it's been an eventful Labor Day weekend. Now I get to go home and see how much of my food I am going to have to throw away because it's been sitting in our fridge with no power for over 2 days. YAY!

In closing; I want to thank our good friends Barb and Sam. Who else would let this crazy group come over at 10PM on a Sunday and spend the night. It's been like a big, dysfunctional slumber party - woohoo! What would I do without you guys? :)
